New visitors

Spring has sprung!

I know this, because I can work with the big doors to the garden open. Heaven!

We've seen the first sparrow fledgling visitor sitting in the tree at the bottom of the garden, and a pair of bluetits have set up home in one of the nest boxes we've put up. It's been joyous watching them collect food and nesting material, and getting the hang of landing at the entrance. They are super quick little zoomers!

A pair of blackbirds are nesting in next door's old Christmas tree, guarding their eggs, We call the male Hoppy because one of his legs is folded up, he seems otherwise completely functional and will sit on the fence with a worm in his beak singing us a song in the evening. Could this be Mr Scruffy from last year? He likes to sunbathe in the same place...

I drove past our local plant nursery recently, and I must have been going so slowly that some sale trees fell into the car with me. Oops. I've also been taking home broken twigs after storms and people kicking footballs around in the park, they have a good success rate when stuck in a pot of compost. I recommend it. Give it a try.

On to today....hopefully I'll finish a robe commission before we teach tai chi, and then I can get on with making small toadstool earrings for my friend. This is a fun little job, and I can do it while watching The Mentalist. What's not to like?

I hope you have a magnificent Tuesday, let me know what you're up to!
