Highgate Cemetery

My husband took me to Highgate Cemetery for my birthday. It's okay, I wanted to go...I'd wanted to go for ages! The Victorians fascinate me and I was not disappointed. It's a truly extraordinary and beautiful place and well worth taking the tour so that you have a better idea of the history of some of the remarkable people laid to rest there.

It's full of trees and wildlife, with a tangible and poignant air of ruin and the passage of time. Just amazing (if you like that sort of thing).
